I think both guys are similar in style of play. Both are good mid range jump shooters, both are pretty good slashers, both players are good defenders. However RJ has the advantage right now because he is a better passer than Howard. So I'll take Jefferson. If this was last season then Howard would have been my pick.
RJ is third in the league in scoring. And he plays with VC. Nuff said.

Howard passing has really improved this year as AJ said he'd run more offense thru J.Ho past couple games. i think howard is the better perimeter defender, he just needs to go back to the post scoring moves he was usuing earlier in his career. i think last year Josh Howard had more to do with the 63 wins then dirk.
Jefferson has never produced as well as he had so far this year...And his statistical production is about identical to Howard's.However Howard is a really first rate defender and that is what makes him substantially better.Last year this question would have been ludicrous,Jefferson was not even close to Howard.
Josh Howard is the Mavericks team, along with Dirk.
Howard could be arguably almost as important as Dirk in many ways.
Josh Howard is the pick.
I really like Richard Jefferson and thought he was underrated before the season began. Everybody kept commenting on how invaluable he was. RJEff is the one of the best SF's in the game when he is healthy. I just think Josh Howard on the defensive end brings more to the table.
