I could see if it was a sprained ankle, but a sprained finger?

It's better to be safe than sorry. I'd rest him. Him sitting out another week I promise you won't be a damper on where he stands as the all-time greats. Nobody is going to say "well he did miss a couple weeks early in the season of the 07-08 campaign."

Right now, the cavs need to be thinking playoffs and beyond, they should not be thinking december. Championships aren't won in december but they could be lost (not saying that the cavs are champsionship contenders, but you get my drift.)

MJ missed most of his second season because of a broken foot.

There's a helluva lot of difference between missing games because of a sprained finger and missing games because of a broken foot.
