Good college career. Had a rough start in the NBA with Denver but found his stride under Larry Bird in Indiana. In his prime he was a borderline all-star.
Had some good years on the court in the NBA, but I will remember him more for his work off the court. In interviews and on tv shows he just seemed like such a happy person to be around. He was real funny, and did a lot of charity work for Kids and such. I have a lot of respect for this guy and I really hoped he could have gotten a ring in Phoenix but it just didnt work out.
I will also remember him being a fan favorite in Toronto back in the dark days. He always gave 100% and it showed. It's real tough playing your all night after night especially on a real bad team like the Raptors were when he got there.
I just hope he gets into Broadcasting. I think he would be fantastic.
Considering he had his two best seasons right after leaving Indiana, I'd say it wasn't.
I guess statistically you are right. But IMO, I just dont regard Jalen Rose's career as of importance when he was in Chicago. I mean he went from playing in teams of significance in Michigan and Indiana then he went on to become the player who scores buckets in a lottery bound team like Chicago. Toronto followed suit but again, nothing spectacular or noteworthy to make a mark in his ending career.
I never understood why he was villafied in Chicago for being a team cancer.
Jalen has a strong personality. That often doesnt mix well with other Alpha males. He also clashed with Isiah Thomas and Sam Mitchell. But then again, who hasnt clashed with Isiah Thomas and Sam Mitchell, or with any coach for that matter.
I think since everything is said and done, he cant be categorically regarded as a disruptive force in his professional career.
