The best thing is to sit Kidd, Carter, and Jefferson out. Tank for a lottery pick. Then trade the pick, Richard Jefferson, and something else to the Lakers for Kobe Bryant. Sign and trade Arenas using Vince Carter.
Kidd
Arenas
Kobe
Williams

RAWR! And move the team to Brooklyn for chrissakes.
YES! This should do it.
Or,
Trade Kidd/Carter/RJ for youngsters. See, if this is baseball, it is a lot easier because they have a well established farm system.
I agree with the post to let boone and Sean williams play. Magliore next off the bench. i would be willing to bet that if those guys played everyday for 30 minutes, nets would be a better team and we'd be talking about a nets trading for a piece to really make a run in the playoffs. As was said, Frank isn't letting those guys play through mistakes so they only get 5-10 minutes or none at all. Sure they'll make mistakes if you play them today but just imagine how good they'll be by the 50th or 60th game in the season. Let them make mistakes, show the film and let them learn. No need to blow it up yet. and fire Frank if he let's collins step foot on the floor again this season.
No need to rebuild quite yet. I wouldnt force a deal unless you clearly fall out of playoff contention. But Kidd would be the obvious guy to move. I`d look to shift him for a solid defending 2 guard to work alongside of Marcus Williams and VC since neither are very good defenders, but matching salaries will be the toughest thing to do...

Diversity, Our Strength...Lets Go Raptors
The Nets need to find an identity. Should the offense go through Jason Kidd or Vince Carter. If you're going to go through Jason Kidd, then build around a team with speed and fast transition. If you're going through Vince Carter, build around a halfcourt offense. You can't choose both and the Nets are trying to do that.
Why were the Nets a bit more successful when they had Collins, Kmart, RJ, Kittles around Kidd? Because Kmart, kittles and RJ were flying across the floor. The nets would usually rack up a good 15 - 20 points on easy baskets alone. Athletic to the core. They also had a dependable Keith Van Horn. Call him soft but he was the one who helped Kidd rebound so Kmart could run on the wings.
If you're going to run the offense through VC, lets call it and trade Kidd. Build the offense into a very good halfcourt team. VC isn't the type that will run with you 100% of the time because thats not his game. He will run but its not in their playbook anymore.
For RJ, I think he is fine with both style. Its just the identity of the Nets. What do you want to do? Halfcourt game that is center with Carter's abilities or Kidd's fast transition. Either way, one has to go and whoever stays must be build around.
Not time to panic yet. Like other people are saying if our idiot of a coach decides to play Sean and Boone lot more minutes and not let Collins set floor on the floor we should be alright. Last night we had a big win against the Cavs hopefully this could start something for us...

Yes, Frank's love for veterans is a bit annoying but I can't blame it all on him. Again, they need to figure out an identity soon. If I had to pick, I would take Kidd, trade VC for a defensive hound, super quick SG (kerry Kittles), draft picks and a veteran big man.

Seems most coaches share that love. Veterans so often don't have the upside, but they understand and do the little things coaches prefer. Dependably mediocre is more attractive to most coaches than unpredictable but with some potential. Let's be honest, a lot of coaches aren't kept around long enough to see the fruits of young guys' potential, especially when a team goes through a whole-hearted youth movement. I'm sure Mike Woodson wouldn't still be in Atlanta if their ownership team weren't fragmented and fighting in court. Mo Cheeks doesn't seem likely to find out how the story in Philly ends. The list goes on through history...
