If we take those players out what are we left with then? There are lots of light skin black guys (dark skinned white guys) in the league playing at allstar levels.

The historical, actual answer to this has to do with the history of racism in America. If a person was even a small percentage black, s/he was considered black and generally treated as such. There were even legal percentages that were considered necessary for determining race (1/32 or 1/64 black made you black, but I don't recall which). I think that multiracial people, having been considered the darker of their races for so many generations, over time just generally considered themselves as such.
But it does bring up guys like Jason Kidd and Jordan Farmar, among many others.

If you can't do anything with your hair other than grow a brillo pad, you're black.
Also, an interesting story about what you said:
When my parents lived in South Africa (they were born and raised there) there was this huge story about this aristocratic white woman who had a black baby. However, she wasn't unfaithful to her husband but rather had a small part of her genetics of african decent. Because of this discovery, her husband divorced her and she had to leave the community and move to the black part of town! Because intermarriage was illegal in South Africa then and he didn't want to move to the black part of town. How terrible is that?

Agreed. If anybody saw him play before he started getting injured, and watched his two Slam-Dunk Contest apperances (he got ripped off both times) they'd agree. He was quick and he had a mean vertical.
Too bad he refused to play a lick of defense.
And Mike Miller, as was previously stated, is also underrated as an athlete. Check out his career stats -- he's always been far more than just a jump-shooter, especially in the past few seasons. He frequently leads, or is a close 2nd, on the Grizzlies in rebounding and/or assists on any given night.

Dude, are you serious? One of the most ridiculous statements I've ever heard here.
Rex had some hops, but he was no where near MJ in athletic ability.
C'mon, man, be real.
