Re: Utah trades Gordan Giricek and a first-round pick to Philadelphia for Kyle Korver

Great trade for Philly.

We'll see about Utah. A first rounder for Korver is a little iffy. They do need a shooter though.

Kyle Korver was dead weight on that Sixers teams. He was a good value second round pick that became a poor value Billy King signing. He still has 3 years and over 15 million left on his contract.

They already have Andre Iguadala, Thadeus Young, and Rodney Carney on the wing. Getting a first round pick and an expiring contract for Korver is a fantastic move.

now they just need to find an idiot to take Willie Green and their team will be in good shape.

I'd add Dalembert into that mix but I don't think even Isiah or Mchale would take this contract.

Re: Utah trades Gordan Giricek and a first-round pick to Philadelphia for Kyle Korver

I don't get this move for Philly. Adding yet another late 1st round pick? How did the two for Iverson work out?

So, Philly wants to go young and that do that by trading Korver (solid but unspectacular player) who's 25 for Giricek who's several years older and not as good? Plus a 1st round pick who will, more than likely, not be very good.

I actually think this works for Utah. They needed another shooter, one's who's actually reliable this time.

Utah should've went for Dalembert.

Gordan Giricek is an expiring. Korver has 3 or so more years left on his contract. Not only do they get rid of Korver's contract they also get a pick out of it. Stefanski robbed the Jazz in this trade

Also see MLKG's post about the young wing players on the Philly roster

This next nba draft might be average-below, so Utah might get the best player out of this one.
