No, you misunderstood me. I know how you feel about the contract. I feel the same way. My question was wether Shaq would have signed for a few million less. If we had to pay him this much and no dollar less to get him, then I'm willing to accept this ****ty contract. It hurts us for a few years, but we won a championship and I think we'll be fine again next year if we get the #1 pick. I just wish we could have signed him for a little less (like 15 million).

But your fanbase has a title. That buys him time. If he hadn't won that title...I know you guys would be heated, no pun intended.

Realistically, all Heat fans knew this day was coming when they traded for him, they probably just weren't expecting it this fast. They went from a title to a sweep to the lottery.

I'll get used to saying this though: Close your eyes and hope it's 2009 Heat fans. Money in the bank....

Right but I think we were on our way to a title or possibly even multiple titles with what we had. We were a one or two pieces away. If anybody remembers the Heat 03-04 they'd say we looked close to championship contention after the way we played. We definately would have had a lot more opportunities and been a contender for a longer time.

Who all was on that team, Wade, Odom, Butler...Haslem? If you could've gotten a real post presence you might be right, they'd be a really exciting team.

yep also eddie jones, rafer alston, brian grant. but 04-05 wade was at least twice as good as in his rookie year. So imagine that Wade with the team as well.

I think if we'd kept that team, we would have been a better version of the Wizards last season. I don't think we would win a championship, though we might get close 3 or 4 times.

Wade owed it to himself and everyone else to outplay LeBron tonight after that pitiful Christmas day performance. Good for him, and no it's not his fault his team sucks. Anyone who thinks it's his fault isn't worth taking serious.
