Kobe re-injured the pinky finger that he dislocated a couple of games ago. getting it x-rayed as we speak.

Rip doesn't get much pub since he's the quiet guy for the Pistons and isn't very demonstrative on the court (though he does have a penchant for saying the wrong thing to the refs, you don't hear about it because he gets his techs quietly). He's having fun with this, and I think he enjoys being the Piston in the spotlight for once.

i don't think rip's going to win. his release is just not made for the shootout. He's a pretty good shooter when he has time to do his preparation on a wide open shot but his going to struggle to find that balance of shooting quickly and shooting accurately for the contest.
i think the dark hourse, if you can even call him that for this contest, is steve nash. we all know he's one of the most automatic shooters in the nba, but does he have the upper body strength of peja and kaponovich? smaller players usually start to get sore on their arms and legs on the last 2 racks.
Kobe could get hot and have a good round but it'll take more than just one good round to win against some of the best in the league. The favorites are Kapono and Peja, imo.

Kobe is more of a "game" shooter but peja,kapono and rip are spot-up jump shooters
