No. Ellis has played for the Warriors for 3 years and he is restricted. So if someone gave him a 5 year/70 million dollar deal, the Warriors would have to match.

However, If Ellis was a 2nd year player and he was a free agent, the most a team could sign him for (FOR THE FIRST YEAR OF THE CONTRACT) is the MAX MLE.

So he could sign a contract of 5 years/60, but that first year would be $5.6 million, then the rest might be 13.6 million over the duration of the last four years. This gives teams the chance to resign him, for cheaper for that first year, but the max money or big time money would kick in the next year.

I think Gibson would fit very nicely in Miami...

Anyone would fit nicely in Miami; it's not that hard to lose games.

Kobe is not having Jordan's PPG because Kobe isnt selfish as Michael Jordan. He plays for the team where as Jordan played only for himself.

Gibson is worth the MLE. Gilson on the other hand...

Ya. He's like Damon Jones on steroids. A perfect fit. If we draft a big then he'd be perfect. But I'm afraid the Cavs would match if we offered the MLE. But we should still try.

Re: 10 Cavs salaries are $75M next season. If Bobcats offer $60M contracts to Gilson

I think the Cavs will do what it takes to keep Gibson, because he's a part of their core. And it doesn't really affect their ability to make the team better. They are still going to be using those expiring contracts to upgrade the team in the summer.

Plus he's a lot better than a lot of you guys think he is. He is a really good spot up shooter, which is amazing value next to James, but he actually has a really nice overall game that he doesn't show that much. But he's a good slasher. If you remember even in the playoffs he was taking it to the basket and drawing fouls. People make the mistake of thinking he's just a 3 point shooter. But what he is is a flat out scorer. Probably a future sixth man of the year candidate unless he bulks up enough to defend starting point guards for other teams. In which case, watch out!

I think the Cavs core is Lebron, Varejao, and Gibson. Anyone else is pretty expendable.

And why would the Bobcats offer Gibson a huge contract when they have Felton? And Boykins....I think the Bobcats have absolutely no plan for their future except to continue to draft North Carolina players.
