You're right, but for historical purposes Moses Malone is considered a center because that's where he became a dominant player. He started his career as a power forward only because he came straight of high school and was too thin to be a center at that time.

I agree with you on Shawn Kemp, Buck Williams and Maurice Lucas. Once you get beyond the first tier and definitely by the second tier the argument is mostly based on preference.

Re: Barkley: Duncan is the #1 Power Forward of All-Time.

Kemp was great at his peak, he just didnt have the commitment or longevity to be one of the greats... which is a shame i loved watching the dude play

Duncan won't be on Malone's level until he gets in the ring with Rodman.

I just don't see how you can reasonably rank the guy 8th when you have no idea what his impact was on the game... I just find that it makes me wonder if the rest of the list is just speculation about guys based on anecdotal evidence.

Re: Barkley: Duncan is the #1 Power Forward of All-Time.

Charles isn't too far off but Malone wasn't really worse in any area other than blocks accumulated, and he was healthier for more minutes and duties.

And Malone was better than Barkley unless we're just taking Top 5.

How about 25 years of reading about the history of the game?

I never saw Pettit play either, but how credible would my list look without him?

I also never saw Bill Russell play live, but I'd be laughed off this board if I didn't have him in the top 4 or so on a list of all-time great centers.

Well, for that matter I'm not sure how Dirk ended up with an MVP award.
