If you are traded a number of times (Kidd, Shaq) does that hurt the outlook of your career, help it, or does it even matter?

An argument could be made that if you are traded a lot then it's a bad thing because your teams are never happy with you. Or the opposite could be said which is that many teams want you and therefore try and go after you.

So what is it?

EDIT: And I'm talking about star players, not journeyman.

Shaq definitely wasn't the best on their team when the Heat won.

I think it does affect certain players - my coworkers and I were talking about Jim Jackson the other day. Scored 25 ppg early in his career (before injury) but I think if he could've spent several years in one stop, he would be more highly regarded.

I guess 12 different teams will do that to ya.
