Well at least you're giving him that.
And how many times does Lebron have to beat Kobe before it matters to people? The last time they played Lebron silenced Mr. Killer Instinct 4th Quarter Finisher. Kobe couldn't even get his shot up on James when he wanted. And then on the other end Lebron hit the game winner right in Kobe, All-NBA 1st Team Defense's grill.
What else do you want?
Lebron just goes out there and beats whoever you put in front of him this year. And people want to act like this is even a discussion. When he's pretty much just dominating everyone in the league almost every single night.
It's a new reality in the NBA that Kobe fans are apparently slow to react to.
Congrats to Kobe on getting Gasol and having the deepest team in the NBA. Lebron doesn't need any of that to get it done in the playoffs.

You had some good, though at times, biased arguments.
That last point was just unecessary in your debate.
The fact of the matter is, Lebron is a better player than Kobe because he has both youth and freakish athleticism.
However, I'll still take Kobe because of his experience and his obvious stronger work rate and focus. I mean, the man is a cold blooded killer. While Lebron can turn it on and be as good as anyone, he only does it when the big stage is on him. Pure and simple, Lebron seems to coast at times and his ego is getting bigger and bigger.
I don't like seeing or hearing about my star player being so focused on becoming a billionaire etc... etc... , his focus on his enterprise means only less time in the gym.
Kobe lives, loves and breathes basketball. The enterprise stuff means nothing to him, just on the court success and the rings.
Kobe is having, in my mind, his best season ever because he is no longer surrounded by scrubs. He doesn't get tripled teamed and his team is able to actually score some baskets, therefore allowing him to relax abit more and stay fresh, while nothing having to resort to chucking.
But do remember, Lebron has close to nobody. He is the better player in terms of ability and stats.
He's a completely new specimen.
And will soon be up to debate as one of the greatest of all time once he gets a secondary scorer and some time.
However, I just prefer Kobe at this moment. If Kobe had Lebron's athleticism and body combined with his own focus and determination, my god.
But ifs are ifs.

Re: kobe...best player by landslide
kobe's more skilled, lebron's more powerful. close race, but i'll choose kobe.
the way kobe went around shaq's outstretched arms and layed the ball in last night (when raja got hit) is something that lebron and most other NBA players can't do. kobe can lay the ball up around his players arms. lebron can absorb the hit, but he doesn't have that kind of precise skill.

Are you saying that Dirk is easy for a 6'8" player to guard? Nowitzki is having a bit of an off-year, but he's one of the toughest matchups of his era.

Hi. Welcome to 2008. Lebron doesn't coast anymore. He's been dominating every night. Whether they are playing the Pacers or the Celtics. Check out his fourth quarter numbers if you need statistical proof. He has been asserting himself on offense and defense since the first game of the season.
There's so much perception about Lebron that needs to be corrected. So many people have antiquated views on him that haven't really taken in what he's done this year. Or what he did last year in the playoffs.

Poppycock. Lebron has a better left hand than Kobe does and routinely is moving the ball around people when he goes to the basket(which he does more than Kobe). Lebron's finishing skills are in a league of their own. I think amongst perimeter players, he's the best, with DWade right behind him.
Some of the and1's lebron has put in this year have been completely ridiculous.
Sigh. This is such an uphill battle. I'm not even talking about what Kobe can't do. I'm spending a lot of this thread trying to tell people how Lebron plays. it's amazing how many of you have such strong opinions on him, but you've only seen him a hand full of times on national TV. Get league pass and watch him every night. Because you are missing out on the best show in the league this year.
For as hyped as Lebron the person is, Lebron the player is almost a secret to most NBA fans. It's clear a lot of people don't have much of an idea of what kind of player he really is this year.

Excellent retort. I make a valid point and you come back with garbage, trying to engage me in a pissing contest.
And how many games did Kobe miss because of that case?

I'm surprised you say this considering Lebron's meltdown against the Spurs last season. Are you honestly insinuating that had the Cavs played the Suns in the first round, they would've gotten any farther than the Lakers of last season?
