Re: kobe...best player by landslide

I think of this argument like this, if Lebron and Kobe were to switch teams which team would be better off? In my opinion a Kobe lead Cavs would be worse than they are today, and while Kobe would probably be averaging 35+ ppg I think their record would suffer. On the other hand if you were to give Lebron all the pieces Kobe has around him this year, I think that team would better than they are right now even in the West.

Both are great players. Lebron is the better player statistically. Kobe cant touched him in that aspect. But If I want a player to play for my team right now, I would pick Kobe without any hesitation. I want that ruthless, no conscience assassin in charge of my team come crunch time.
Not that I think taking Kobe is a bad choice by any stretch, but Lebron has been that guy this year.

It's all just baseless speculation though. That, in my opinion, doesn't go anywhere near helping to answer the question.

I could just as easily say that the Cavs with Kobe would be much better than the Cavs with Lebron, and the Lakers with Lebron would be much worse than the Lakers with Kobe.

Not only that, but it depends on how each player fits into the particular system. If you have a team with no shooters, you're better off going with Kobe. If you're on a team with no PG, you're better off going with Lebron.

Just adding fuel to the fire I guess.

This has gotta be a joke...the last two seasons Kobe had NOBODY to help him in any aspect of the game. Kwame= stiff Odom= wallflower Walton=good passer, sometimes made a shot Parker= go back to the playground...And that was the talent in the starters...playing against the west!! The Laker teams of the last 2 years had no business even sniffing the playoffs. With all this garbage around Kobe he had to focus on offense because nobody else could hit a shot.I watched every game...he gave them chances, they bricked time and time again. He defense IMO dropped off the last 2 years out of necessity. This year with people that can back him up on both sides he is a beast on D. Ask Dwayne Wade....

Lebron's jumper is below average. The percentages might be skewed because of late shots and all that, but the bottomline is he has been shooting 31% from downtown for 2 years now.

Kobe shoots plenty of shots with hands in face and last second and his shooting is better then Lebron no contest.

Lebron will never be a great shooter. He doesn't have the form. Unless he decides to change his shot completely.

Re: kobe...best player by landslide

I think that most Lakers fans (such as myself) think Kobe is the best player in the game. Most Cavs fans will think LeBron is the best player in the game.

I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I can say this, though: I am completely and utterly sick of the Kobe vs. LeBron argument. It's always Kobe vs. somebody, whether it's Vince Carter (back in the day), T-Mac for what felt like forever, Wade, LeBron, and of course Jordan. Enough with the comparisons. It got old a long time ago.
