Smith is an underlooked part of this deal. He was Chicago's best player frequently this season. Cleveland now should have a rotation of bigs that is tough and effective, if not particularly overwhelming.

Smith is one of the reasons I like this trade for Cleveland. I think he can come in and do what Gooden did, plus not be an idiot. And as far as Wallace goes, I know he hasn't worked out in Chicago, but that guy played a very big role on some very good teams not too long in the past. And come final year of his contract, I think there will be alot more people interested in dealing for him than there would be for Hughes. As far as Wally and Delonte go, Wally will hit shots. And the Cavs need that. Anything beyond that, no so much. And get ready to be disappointed by Delonte. I was surprised at how often I saw him make bad decisions for the Sonics this season.

Yeah I haven't seen Delonte West play much this year. I saw him in Boston, and he looked promising there. He seems to have regressed significantly across the board this year. Anyone know whether it's the setting or something else?

But in all fairness that's because you haven't seen much of Varejao. Gooden was traded because of Varejao.

I am strongly of the opinion that Varejao is the 2nd best player on the Cavs. But that doesn't mean that the team wouldn't be better off if Wallace started and he came off the bench backing up both power spots.

I have a feeling that Wallace will start at PF just because we need a scorer in the second unit. We'll probably play Wallace with Z and AV with Smith, even though Ben Wallace is the worst player of the bunch.
