Believe me, we Celtics fans are breathing a huge sigh of relief after this deal. There's nothing that comforts us more than thought of Wally jacking up 20 shots against the Cs in a playoff game. It's like getting your "Get out of jail free" card and landing on Free Parking in one turn.

Well the guy who was jacking up the 20 shots before was Larry Hughes. Who would you rather be worried about shooting 20 shots?

I just don't know.

I mean, Wally is a pretty good shooter. In Cleveland to some extent we really want our shooters jacking up shots. I guess that's because in the past so many of our non-shooters (Hughes) would do it.

EDIT - futuristxen beat me to it, lol

Re: Wally Z, Delonte West, Ben wallace, Joe smith to cavs

To me at least three of the four guys are going to be energized by going to a winning team (Joe Smith, Delonte and Wally World). Ben Wallace no clue. He could still mail it in this year, and the following two years, but other three players was worth IMO.

Wally expires next year as does Damon Jones and Eric Snow and could net a good player as well.

Joe Smith for Gooden was pretty much the only real upgrade in the trade. But the presence of Wallace means that they'll not get the full use of Smith. The good news for Cavs fans is that Danny Ferry's job is now on an official deathwatch. He's going to have to pull a miracle out of his *** a la Danny Ainge by the trade deadline next year, because Gilbert isn't going to let him splurge in the free agent market again after his last set of signings. If Ferry can't swing a deal for a major talent by next February he'll be back in San Antonio by next June. And, unlike Ainge, he has nothing to trade (except LeBron, who's untouchable) but expiring deals. Ainge at the least had a high draft pick and Al Jefferson to use.
