These afterthoughts are all so pointless. Bargnani has been playing better for like a month now, 25/7/5 with 2 blks today. He probably won't be the best player out of that draft class, but he is still likely to become pretty good player.
And about him being soft. I do agree that he needs to learn how to pull down some rebounds, and on offense he needs to go inside more times than shoot 3s, but as far as him being the softest 7-footer? It's not even close in my opinion. He often times pick up these rookie fouls that limits his playing time, but when he does manage to stay on the court, his low post D has been quite decent. You're not going to mistake him for Tim Duncan, but it's not like guys are just running through him at will.

I didn't really know much about the players in that draft except for Gay, but I knew then that they ****ed up with that pick.

he began the seaosn slow, had an off game the last two, consistancy is key, bargnani is showing why he was the number one pick, poor timing to rag on him after he was bodying actual soft players like eddy curry & randolph tonight.
DENVER is another team far & beyond softer then Toronto;
so you've got NYK, New Jersey, Utah, Bucks, Denver, GSW, Phx Suns (as a whole), Chicago, Miami, Memphis etc.etc

I would not care if he is a 21 year old kid playing a new position. He underachieves as a 7 foot, 250 pounder. His low post defense comes from his natural gifts of length and weight. That is, he weighs enough so he won't get shoved around like a rag doll.
His 4 rebounds a game is a freqeunt point because rebounding, along with post play, drawing fouls etc, are some of the most physical aspects of the game. Bargnani is an atrocious rebounder because he doesn't want to fight for it. He doesn't even box out. He just takes off. Even WNBA players rebound at a higher rate than him. Bargnani is the softest 7-footer in the league.

until toronto has a 7 foot center who can defend the best bigs, shoot the 3, put the ball on the floor and have some of the best vision & passing for a bigman ever.
he just lacks consistancy on the jumpshot & the drive, and needs to be stronger crashing the boards.. do i like rudy gay & roy better>? yes, are they more advanced currently? yes.
but bargnani was not a bad pick, he is not even near a bust, and really needs to get comfortable which when he is, you'll get near triple-double numbers from a 7 footer, and a few blocks.. think about it,.
BTW, fact, bargnani is a poor rebounder. is he improving, hell yes, is he actually boxing out recently, **** yes, ask any toronto fan.. some down games w/ foul trouble, but he;s actually showing a nose for the ball more recently. i aint gonna blatently hate on him like some of you, i watch him every game, it's ups & downs, you can see the potential.
