Do you really think they just had their home opener?! lol
Anyway early in the season when I said detroit was still a legit championship contender I heard a lot of "nope they've had their chances and lost it" etc. It's amazing how people pretend they never said half the **** they did on this board.

Honestly... That would be a fun game to watch.
No really.. Suns made this trade because they knew they were not going to get the title unless that got a post presence. I think the Suns made the best choice available. If they would have went after a Ben Wallace or something, who is a better defense at this point in each others careers, they would not have someone who can make good passes, or draw double teams.
It was a big risk, but no guts no glory. Suns needed to do something, and if this works they will look brilliant.
But the risks are there as everyone knows. Can Shaq get conditioned enough to play more consistently in a best of seven series? Can he bring his intensity every night without fouling out? Can Shaq get it together for just one more season to help the Suns get to the top? I personally don't think it will happen.
But if Shaq can get it together before playoffs.. And Nash can learn to run a half court setup effectively after all these years of being fast break only? Then many teams wouldnt want to see the Suns in the playoffs.

Re: Detroit is embarrassing the Suns right now
Its still early for Shaq to fit into this system.
Also Shaq was 1 from 8 FTs. That hurts

Re: Detroit is embarrassing the Suns right now
It amazes me that Shaq is still garbage at the free throw line. So many coaches have worked with him but he still manages to not only miss his free throws, but look like a ****ing idiot. It drives me nuts how he holds the ball and how he leans forward and sometimes falls over the line and gets called for a violation. That is pathetic.

Re: Detroit is embarrassing the Suns right now
I was so happy watching this game, simply because I was tired of Wilbon and Legler and all those media guys feeding me the Shaq/Suns hype, saying how he had "transformed" the team and other such garbage. No one mentions the fact that they lost Marion in the deal, the best player in the trade, no one mentions that whatsoever. They act like they got Shaq for nothing. This team can't get easy buckets any more because they don't have Marion's speed in transition. They try to slow things down in the half court instead of playing the 6 second offense, and so what happens is, when Shaq can't create anything, they got nothing. They also don't have Marion's ability to roam on defense. Instead they got Shaq and expected to improve defensively. What a joke that was. Shaq hasn't been a good post defender since the 1990s.
