Re: Yao out for Season with Stress Facture
I hope after this year's olympics, I hope China doesn't force him to play year after year. Nobody can play pro ball year round, especially somebody 7'6 310lbs who gets fouled all the time without gettin calls

What does pain tolerance have anthing to do with it?
I said a 7'6" guy with lower leg problems is about as "unlucky" as a guy with a bad back suffering a back injury.
I'll spell it out for you: luck has nothing to do with it. Because of Yao's size, he is predisposed to these kinds of injuries. Just like a guy with a bad back is predisposed to back injuries.

his fracture in his tibia was just below the knee. this stress fracture is in his foot. his infection was in his big toe. i guess you can use the broad term "lower leg" to try to make it fit your point, but it doesn't make it correct.

Re: Yao out for Season with Stress Facture
The rockets won without him tonight hopefully they keep that up.

Re: Yao out for Season with Stress Facture
Sucks for Yao, he was putting together a hell of a season.
Same for the Rockets, they were on an 11-game win streak prior to tonight's game (which they won, but I don't expect that to continue against good teams).

Re: Yao out for Season with Stress Facture
57, 48 and 55 games in his last 3 seasons may be a real concern for Houston

Re: Yao out for Season with Stress Facture
Last year Yao was out for the season because Chris Kaman's 260 + pound frame crashed into the side of his knee. That's more of a freak accident than anything. It's not like he's randomly getting back pains after coming down from a jumpshot like T-Mac.

That would be correct if the lower leg problems had something to do with Yao being 7'6". However, height has no bearing on whether you get a toe infection. The propensity of a bone to break after a 260 lb guy falls on top of it has nothing to do with height, either. The stress fracture is the only one so far that is likely to have been partly caused by him being 7'6".

Correction. It was a 12 game win streak.
The streak is now at 13.
**** why is Yao out.

Re: Yao out for Season with Stress Facture
Rockets' fan website reported that the Rocket doctors said he had the injury since 5th of November and that the team trainer diagnosed it wrong and so they waited all that time before checking him out..............
1. Yao is a freakin' WARRIOR 22/11 on that injury damn
2. Imagine what Houston could do if Yao and T-Mac ever played all year 100% is this ever happening?
3. The Rockets trainer is a complete tool
4. It looks like Rick Adelman is cursed
