Josh Smith with a lane is dangerous..

Define a slasher though.
IMO Shawn is a very reliable slasher, you give him that open lane and no one will dare step in his way. Most people are stuck with his offensive strengths which are putbacks and fastbreak, but they seem to have overlooked other aspects of his game.
And you dont necessarily have to possess great handles to drive to the basket, because Im sure as hell Amare,Tyrus Thomas does not have great handles, therefore their inclusion in this thread should be nullified. Also Phoenix never encouraged ISO's to begin with anyway so that type of play is almost non existent when Marion was in Phoenix.

Re: Most Feared to-the-basket Slasher
Few guys come to mind and that's LeBron, Amare, and Josh Smith. Seriously, I wouldn't want to be in front of any of them if I'm a defender. Especially LeBron when he turns on that extra gear and coming in like a speeding bullet. Yikes.

Re: Most Feared to-the-basket Slasher
Some names would be Amare, Lebron, Josh Smith, Dwight (but he's not really a "slasher")..

Re: Most Feared to-the-basket Slasher
This is kinda subjective, it depends on the match ups. Lebron just makes his way to the rim so easily because he is usually faster/stronger than his defenders. Dwight and amare are also athletic freaks, they simply ignore/trumple their defenders and are usually closer to the basket wich makes the job easier.

Re: Most Feared to-the-basket Slasher
I have noticed that Amare doesn't even need a lane and tries to just go through or over his defender. Dude is strong, btw what is that armor he has over his abdominal area? I see it after his games, its like posterization gear or something.

Re: Most Feared to-the-basket Slasher
A slasher cuts, look in the dictionary. An open lane is anybody's driveway (don't get in front of most big guys), but who's your guy who can make his way through traffic and then make FEMA respond?
Lebron here.

Re: Most Feared to-the-basket Slasher
The person who started this thread doesn't know what a slasher is.
The only person in the poll who is a slasher is Lebron.
A slasher is someone who gets the ball on the perimeter and drives to the basket a lot for their points. They can be big like Lebron or small like AI. They are not guys like Dwight Howard who are too big to really dribble in traffic.
I think Barbosa, Parker, and Lebron are among the best. With Wade and Kobe in there too.

Re: Most Feared to-the-basket Slasher
Um, LeBron James....he makes lanes.
Amare and Dwight are the top 2 for big men.(Not really slashers, but when they catch the ball after they make that initial move watch out)
