Now voting for the 8th top player in the league...
We're building a list of the top 25 players in the league, one player at a time. You vote for the top player in the league by posting his name in bold font. After 24 hours (or 50 votes, whichever comes first), the leading vote getter goes #1 on the list and we vote for #2 and the process repeats all the way to 25. You can only vote once per round, but you may vote for the same player as many times as you would like in successive rounds if he's not already on the list. I will disregard your vote if I find it to be frivolous.
The definition of the "best" player is who you would take to START a team with the goal of winning a championship in the 2007-2008 season. Contract, potential, position, current team etc. is irrelevant.
Imagine that we're redrafting the whole league; please do NOT give regard to current team. You have an EMPTY roster and this is the player that you're building around. DO NOT GIVE REGARD TO A PLAYER'S ACTUAL SUPPORTING CAST.
And please try to refrain from voting with a hometown bias. Note that this doesn't mean that you're not allowed to vote for your favorite player, just please please please try to remain objective. We're trying to compile a legitimate list here, and neither you nor your favorite player wins a prize for landing a high slot.
1) Lebron James
2) Kobe Bryant
3) Tim Duncan
4) Kevin Garnett
5) Chris Paul
6) Dwyane Wade
7) Dwight Howard
Runner-ups in the last round included: Steve Nash, Yao Ming, Dirk Nowitzki, Emanuel Ginobili, Baron Davis, and Allen Iverson.
Feel free to write in other candidates.

I want a ring too, but you know what I want more than a ring? 44 million dollars.
If you were to offer me 44 million dollars right now, I would offer to give you a ring made out of 3 of my fingers, part of my penis, and any other body part you would like. JO wants to win? Great. If I'd make a penis ring for 44 million dollars, JO would stay in Indy and lose for it as well.
