The Seattle SuperSonics have waived forward Ira Newble. Newble was acquired by the Sonics in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Feb. 21. He logged 17 minutes in two games for Seattle.

6'7 200 lbs.
He's a solid perimiter defender, but doesn't do much for you after that. He can score/rebound a bit.

He's been in the league like three years too long, just because he was stupidly given the chance to sign a five- or six-year deal.
Horrible player, and I hate his name. Ira Newble is not the name of anyone from this planet.

I didn't understand Bill on that one. Almost all of their guys come off the books in 09 or 2010.

Newble is out of the league now. Seriously there are a good 10 guys in the D-League who could produce more than he does. Guaranteed contracts tend to keep scrub role players in the league.

Maybe the Cavs will bring him back so they have another perimeter defender on the team?
He's not good by any means. But he has shown an improved jumper this year, and some ability to play spot minutes at the 4.
