There is a good chance that the eight teams in the Western Conference playoffs will be within six or seven games. Does this balance make home court advantage more or less important this year ?

I'd say the better question is which teams have winning road records? Chances are if you want to advance to the finals, you're going to have to win a game or two on the road in a series. Home Court is vital, but I'd hate to face Golden State in the first round and lose HCA in the first two games like Dallas did.
