i was pointing out how dumb it was to use steals as a defensive measure

That's all fine and dandy but you still hasn't shown me how Pierce is good on defense. You even just said his steal stats are bogus. So where is his defense? I just don't see it.

So many things said in this thread make me believe more and more that Paul Pierce is the most underrated player in the league. I mean, the thread starter can't even spell his name right... Most people are saying ridiculous things based on nothing. I bet most people haven't even bothered to see the numbers hes put up or watch him.

Pierce has has a defensive rating of +1.9 based on the defensive formula;
Defensive Rating = (Opponent's Points Allowed/ Opponent's Possessions) x 100
