We'll see how big they'll come up once they're all actually on the floor together.

Re: would you say the lakers have a big 4

You literally couldn't pick five better players for the triangle offense than the five they have right now. Gasol is a perfect fit because he is a gifted offensive player with a high basketball IQ, he can work the high post, is a gifted passer and can score consistently in the paint. Putting Bynum and Odom with him on the frontcourt covers up his rebounding weakness and creates a lot of length in the paint which makes it difficult for opponents to score. Odom is perfect because he is the point forward that Jackson likes for his offense. Fisher is the tough savvy veteran who doesn't really handle the ball a lot but can defend and shoot the lights out. Plus their bench is very good and very deep.

If this team gets adjusted to Pau and Bynum playing together as quick as they got adjusted to playing with Pau in the lineup, I don't see anyone beating them. They have the best frontcourt in the league, with the best backcourt player, and the best bench, along with the best coach. Stacked. Hopefully Bynum can get back into the swing of things quickly. It's not like he has a huge role, so I expect him to. Rebound, defend, block shots, and dunk it when they drop the ball in your hands.

Re: would you say the lakers have a big 4

Yes. They are all very effective players. Kobe is a superstar. Gasol is an All-Star caliber player. Odom is an incredible 3rd fiddle and one of the best all-around players in the league. Bynum is just a plain beast down low. He's a walking double double, and hes like second in the league in FG%.

they do all fit well, but by no means are these the five best players you could pick for the triangle offense.

the lakers will be the team to beat if the team plays as well as they look on paper when they finally all step on the court together. it's doubtful that occurs right away though.

Offensively its close, only thing missing is another perimeter that has a reliable jumper, but I guess since Pau has an automatic 15 footer, he can cover Odom's offensive lapses from that range. Odom's O game consists of ISO drives and putbacks anyway.

Re: would you say the lakers have a big 4

How did Bynum get so overrated so quickly? I think the injury actually helped him to become overrated. I mean he is averaging 13 and 10. That's Udonis Haslem, Emeka Okafor numbers. Sure he might be great one day, but everybody saying the Lakers will be SO much better when he gets back is crazy.
