MJ shattering the backboard.

I just had to post this sick dunk. Nike Game in Italy back in the summer of 1986. Amazing how far away he jumped from.

That was pretty sick! First time I've ever seen that. Nice find!

Re: MJ shattering the backboard.

I recall a 1993 Sports Illustrated For Kids that listed the stats for both Jordan and Shaquille O'Neal (that young up and comer from the Magic that never amounted to anything, remember him?). Under "Backboards Shattered" It had O'Neal at 1 and Jordan at 0. SI FOR KIDS, YOU LIED TO ME!

to be fair, they were probably counting official NBA games. not exhibition games

Re: MJ shattering the backboard.

MJ's strength is incredible for such a thin guy.

Great find, and amazing dunk.

Re: MJ shattering the backboard.

How insulting it must be to have an opponent dunk on you, and have the glass from the backboard fall directly on you from that dunk. Imagine having cuts from that, and having to explain them the following day.
