In the right situation, Redd can be a great asset to a team(a la Ray Allen) but he's obviously not someone to build a team around(a la Kobe or Wade)

I edited your post so people know who's actually making the argument. I know you mentioned in the Clippers forum that you're going to post it here, but not many people would have known that, so I'm just trying to give credit where it's due.

Thanks, i'm copying and pasting because in the clippers forum we're having a discussion about a particular mod (yamaneko) abusing his mod-powers by deleting posts which poke fun at his ideas, which he vehemently argues with very long posts. (this one i cut & pasted is one of the shorter ones)

In particular, we've been arguing how he places special criteria on certain players (Michael Redd in this case) to qualify them as "Superstars", yet his special criteria is obviously not accepted by the larger population of posters here. So we dubbed these players he endlessly argues for as "Yamastars", this word, which is somehow against the rules (wtf?) against the rules, has resulted in many of our posts being deleted.

Thanks to everyone who posted for the input in proving this guy wrong.

Redd is not someone that you build your offense around, and that's why the Bucks have been struggling. He should be used like how the Hornets use Peja or how the Celtics are using Ray Allen, as a pure shooter that relies on someone else to create shots for him. If he's used correctly, he isn't any worse than any other pure shooter in the league but doesn't offer as much to the table as guys that can slash and create shots for others.

He's a shooter, and he's not a superstar. He's a really good second-hand man, which is why the Bucks sucked so much this year. Still not as bad as that eyesore that is Bobby Simmon's contract, but it is pretty bad.
