Re: Where does Denver go from here?
They need to ship out AI and get someone that will just focus on playing defense. Ron Artest would've been nice for them and still could be, but he plays sf like Melo but they could probably play together. They should probably try and trade Kleiza as he pry has a bit of value with that huge game he had, try to ship him out with someone like Martin or Nene who just have terrible contracts.

Re: Where does Denver go from here?
i'd say denver should stick with its core lineup and wait for 1-2 more years. the good thing that came out of the lakers sweeping them in the first round is the breakout perfromance of linas kleiza at least offensively. i think the nuggets should get another quality big man just in case the injury-prone camby and nene go down again in the course of the season. lets face it, this is just their first full year together and already they've showed they can win a lot of ballgames. too bad 7 more teams in the west can do the same. improving on their defense obviously is another thing they should improve and trading for a defensive minded player(s) would be a good idea.

Re: Where does Denver go from here?
the vets will get shopped. the nuggets would love to dump kmart on his head now that he isnt injuried...will someone take on his salary...maybe. camby and ai will be shopped as well.
The Nuggets need to look a younger guys and try and get some more picks as well. Build around melo...put shooters around him not one on one guys. its a 2 to 3 year project before i see them contending...unless they make a deal for a Michael Redd or Rip Hamilton..then who knows

I heard from a buddy that their is a minor league team project that allows your average fan to be a part owner. Basically you buy a share and you get to vote on basketball operations. I guess this includes the coach, players and all the other stuff. The website is currently guaging interest in the IBL. It isn't the pros but it still is basketball. Sounds better than running some pointless fantasy team.

Re: Where does Denver go from here?
They will resign JR Smith to a long term contract this off season... people around here seem to be becoming higher and higher and higher on everyones positive list... I see them keeping AC, Melo, Nene, Martin, LK, and JR Smith... the rest might not be back...

Re: Where does Denver go from here?
The should fire Karl, get a pg and get a more reliable big than Nene and they'll be fine. A big point guard.
They'd actually be better with a Jason kid than the Mavs would really.

Re: Where does Denver go from here?
Denver needs to blow up that team. No one should be untouchable. And of course, Karl should be fired. AI and Melo cannot both be on that team again together. Hell, I wouldn't want either of them. I might be willing to keep Melo if I thought I could rehabilitate him, but I have serious doubts that he 'gets it.'
The TNT guys hit the nail on the head last night. The defensive problems start on the offensive side of the court. When you have not one but TWO guys who pound the ball mercilessly while looking for shots for themselves, the whole team concept goes out the window. End the NBA viewing public's pain, and just blow that sucker up.

He coached ****ty teams. It's not his fault the talent level wasn't there! he did coach a team to the NBA finals, and does have a winning career percentage as a coach.
Don Nelson has a losing record in the playoffs, is he a bad coach? Hubie Brown has a losing record as coach in both playoffs and regular season, he's a good coach. Records aren't indicative of quality. Some coaches get Kobe and Jordan while others get Carmelo and Payton. The Nuggets had no chance against the Lakers who were clearly better than them and hungrier for a post season win
