Obviously this isn't official.I assume it will be announced tomorrow and the trophy would be presented prior to game five of the Hornets-Mavericks series.
I forgot.I guess Mr Kidd shall be there to congratulate Byron.
Re: Times-Picayune reports Byron Scott will win COY
at Kidd being on the Mavs when Scott's Hornets are crushing them

hes an alright candidate but i dont think he was the best coach. i think phil and maurice cheeks deserved the award more. i know cheeks wont win it, but i think he is a better coach... same with phil who i think should have won it and is a better coach as well. he had the number 1 seed even with bynum out.

and he got someone better and more experienced in Pau Gasol, on top of already having a deep bench, the best player in the game in Kobe Bryant and a solid starting 5.

Kobe is not having Jordan's PPG because Kobe isnt selfish as Michael Jordan. He plays for the team where as Jordan played only for himself.

There's two schools of thought when it comes to all COY choices. It's either the beast team's coach...or the most surprising teams coach. Either way the coach gets to much credit or blame and it's really the players...

I think a semi-competent coach could have taken the celtics to a top 4 seed in the east. Besides, before the season began, which would you have found more surprising...Boston winning the division or New Orleans winning their division?
also, is sloan ever going to win one? What Sloan does year after year is nothing short of amazing. If not for Jordan, he'd probably have at least 1 championship.

Don't forget about Olajuawon either. He knocked out some good Jazz teams also.
