Re: Best coach in nba?
oh he hasn't? the only two times the pistons have been to the finals in the past 20 years or so has been with... a larry brown coached team.
i do think he's a quitter though.. i don't see any point in hiring him if he's going to leave your organization after 2 or 3 years.

LOL no way. He is braindead as a coach he just gives LeBron the ball and says you create. There is basically no offense like a motion or a triangle just give it to LeBron and get the **** out of the way. Not a bad coach but not a great coach by any stretch of the imagination.
BTW LOL at everyone criticizing Larry Brown. Brown is a great coach, his faults lie with relating to players. If Carlisle or Saunders had been coaching the Pistons during the 2004 season we don't win the championship period. The way he got that team to play defense and play together was a thing of beauty. Carlisle and Saunders are both fairly good offensive minds but neither is a very good coach.

carlisle got them to the 2nd round and then to the eastern conference finals. the next year they fire carlisle, bring in brown, and acquire rasheed wallace at the deadline for nothing. acquiring a big man of that caliber without giving up anything was the reason the got to the finals the next two seasons and won once.

So explain to me how many titles the Pistons have won since Brown left?
And you know that Iverson guy you mentioned, his best success was under Brown's tutelage. Wonder why he couldnt duplicate his feats after Brown left

carlisle would have won that championship and he is a very good coach. hell after leaving the pistons, he had the pacers as the best team in the league until the brawl happened and he still was able to get that team to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Yeah that did have an impact but I'm sorry but Carlisle would have lost to the Lakers. Brown outcoached Phil Jackson in that series and that is why they won.

Re: Best coach in nba?
Carlisle doesnt have a clue about how to run an offense. Thats why even when Artest and O'Neal were playing their best basketball, they still faltered
Like bball223, Carlisle would have been outcoached by Jackson. That Lakers team was downright scary

they won the title with brown in his first year. what happened the next year? the addition of sheed was the biggest thing about that first title. the team was hungry and they were playing great together. after that, they never seemed to want it as bad. then you had flip saunders leading them to better regular season records than they had but losing to miami in the playoffs and then you had the decline and departure of ben wallace. larry brown just happened to be with detroit at the perfect time to capitalize on a great move by joe dumars.

his best team success was with larry brown because that is when they had the best teams. once they gave aaron mckie, eric snow, etc their bad contracts because they made the finals they put the team in a bad position. they weren't as good after making the finals with larry brown either. and statistically you could argue iverson's best seasons came after larry brown left.
