You guys do know that AI also holds numerous records himself right? And AI has actually been to the NBA finals, not just some conference semis or finals for that matter. Paul is playing excellently right now, but isnt it a bit early to start putting him ahead of a HOFer and MVP for that matter

As a point? Of course.
As a SG? Not really.
I've never been a fan of comparing players across position, and people don't realize what AI always was: an incredibly versatile shooting guard.
Btw, for the short time that he played point under O'Brien and Cheeks, he was putting up 40 and 15 type numbers.

I'm still not ready to put him over Iverson in terms of career yet. Potentially sure...but not yet. I'd take Paul over Iverson right now though.

i think this thread was more about would you take paul right now over iverson at the peak of his career.
and at this point, i'd still take iverson.

I don't understand that. I'd take Paul every day of the week. he's just easier to build a team around. Not that it couldn't have been done with Iverson, but to really **** up to sink a team with paul on it.
That said, Paul's supporting cast is already better than any AI ever played with in Philly.

If it's peak Iverson to right now Paul I'm still going to take Paul. Only because Iverson never showed that he was going to be the team player first. Paul is so easy to build a team around. Iverson was an amazing scorer but as I said in another thread Chris Paul accounts for at the very least 44 points per game if you add assists and points. It's probably a lot closer to 50 because of all the assists he has on three's.
Throw in his amazing turnover numbers and it's enough for me.
