Is he somehow implying that he is as valuable as LeBron? Not even in the same ballpark.
I agree. I like Agent Zero but damn, the dude is simply not thinking straight. I get where he's going with his statement, but why does he feel the need to keep bringing up Bron Bron?

Washington still has two all star caliber players in Jamison and Butler outside of Arenas, its not that shocking that the team could survive missing Arenas for a good stretch, there is no doubt Arenas has a better supporting cast then Lebron, but Lebron is the man and he makes average talent flourish, thats something Gil has never been able to do.
What makes him so sure that he won't be hurt again? Or that Butler won't completely disappear? He still hasn't won jack.[/QUOTE]
Neither has Lebron James.
Well, he's put Gilbert and company out in the 1st round in each of the past 3 years and went to the finals last year. So he's won way more that Gillie the Kid has.
arenas is a fun player, but any suggestion that the wizards could contend for an nba title is laughable. this is not a serious team and i don't think anyone legitimately thinks that it is

Imagine a person, tall, lean and feline, high-shouldered, with a brow like Shakespeare and a face like Satan, ... one giant intellect, with all the resources of science past and present ... Imagine that awful being, and you have a mental picture of Yi Jinlian, the yellow peril incarnate in one man.
Dont feel like reading two pages, so sorry if this has been covered.
So heres my two cents:
1) Where in the good **** does Gilbert get to compare himself to Lebron James? Or, where has he become the player to say, "You did this without me. Wait until Im back" Caron was the team. Arenas is a borderline superstar. He should learn to shut the **** up.
2) When they're healthy? Maybe a bandaid ***** (derogatory term for vagina) like Gilbert shouldnt talk about being healthy. Play 82 before you talk to me about being healthy you little *****.
I hate the Cavs, but Ill back them when a ****** like Gilbert runs his ***** mouth.
It doesn't make you any better to have lost year after year because you were hurt. That's part of the game, some people are more injury prone than others and some people can play hurt, some can't. Using injuries as an excuse or a moral victory after getting beat time after time is for losers, period.

When I watched the interview, it appeared that a reporter asked how do you get past Cleveland. I don't think Arenas was making excuses what had already done but rather a reason to believe in the future.

That would make more sense as to why he randomly throws Lebron's name into there..

Yea it would. But he shoudl NEVER compare himself to LeBron. The Wiz playing without Gilbert and Cleveland playing with LeBron is completely different.
The Wiz can get to the playoffs without Gilbert and actually have better chemistry, along with 2 other all-stars. Cleveland would be a D-League team without LeBron about as good as Miami last year (maybe worse).

"They said NBA players couldn't play well together in the Olympics. Well, it's not about the names on the back (of our jerseys), it's about the 3 letters on the front."
And everyone would be trashing Gilbert if he said the exact opposite of what he said here. Not everyone is Tim Duncan where they have had their ego surgically removed.
Be glad Gil has given haters something to work with this offseason. The only reason he put himself in the same conversation as Lebron (if you actually read) is because he's making a comparison of each team loosing it's best player and being able to win. He didn't say Lebron sucks or anything of the sort. Don't let you're man love for Lebron or hate for Gilbert cloud your judgment of the meaningless interview.
This is a nice break from the typical thread claiming a player who hasn't played a single NBA regular season game is the 2nd coming of (hall of fame player name here). Yet, the conversation doesn't develop much beyond a simple hate fest for someone speaking their mind.

It's more like big old brother vs. little young brother, sometimes you get the little wins, but deep down inside you know that you don't have a chance. I don't think you can call something a rivalry when the score is 3-0.

Neither has Lebron James.
Arenas is speaking the truth: the Cavs have beaten an healthy Wiz squad once, some years ago (and the Cavs did it being carried by the refs).
Dude is propping his team, saying something like: "If we are healthy, watch out!". Nothing wrong about that, IMHO.
LeBron James has won an Eastern Conference title (not that its saying much) but Gilbert hasn't won a playoff series yet (unless im forgetting one).
