He would be making $4 million over the course of three years subtracting the buyout when currently he only makes a little over 200k in Spain (note: obviously this is all before taxes). He is Fegan's client. If he tells Fegan that he wants to play in the NBA he could cut a check on the spot.
Lebron is such a joke. He saw how much everyone loved Dwight and Nate's routine in the dunk contest and had to horn in on it and announce 364 days early how he would participate and get the spotlight on him. Then he wips it all up in a frenzy and backs out like a chump. I've been getting tired of LeBron's junk for a while now. This is just another reason to see this guy as a chump. Great ballplayer, insane talent, total chick.

I was talking about your whole argument that he is afraid to come over to play in the NBA.

If you're going to pick my point by bringing up tax then I'm going to pick your point by repeating that he will make millions on endorsements. Even Jennings has gotten millions in endorsements already.

That's a great question, and you hit it on the head here Dornado.
The buyout seems to be an issue, yet there's nothing ANY NBA team could do to help that out besides contribute the max which was like what? 500 grand? That begs the question, if the buyout is such a problem, why did he enter the draft? If it was to be a top pick, he obviously knew he wasn't going #1, and didn't wanna go #2 to Memphis, so why stay in the draft and not pull out IF the buyout was going to be such a problem?
While i think it could be a big issue (like many have said, he'd be paying out of pocket, and virtually in the NBA for free or little money), in his case, by staying in the draft and ending up in Minny, based on the events, just looks like he's not happy landing in Minnesota, and is using the whole "buyout" argument as leverage to break out and end up somewhere he wants to be.

..and this guy gets picked 36th in the draft, SMH. Prove 'em wrong Sam and Dejuan, prove 'em wrong!

You don't know what you're talking about.
LeBron and Carmelo got big bucks six years ago, but if you think recent draft picks have been getting $30 million, you're really out of the loop.
Here's a list of the top fifty american athletes in earnings.CHris Paul is probably the only big endorser who doesn't make the list(he's still on his rookie contract until next year).I'd guess Paul's probably making between 7 and 12 million in endorsements. The endorsements of players like SHawn Marion(600K),Michael Redd(250K) and Rashard Lewis(750K) give you an idea of what a shoe deal is worth for a star player. That's pretty much what Rubio would make, but I'd bet that he already has a shoe deal which may or may not pay him more if he's in the nba.No chance in hell he makes more than a million or two in endorsements, especially if you consider that he's got some deals in Spain that don't have anything to do with him playing in the nba. He's simply not that famous. We know who he is,but none of us know what his q rating is and the guys who do aren't giving a bunch of money until more average people know who he is.

In April, we told you that no NBA draft pick would sign a shoe endorsement deal worth more than $1 million a year. That top number, we’re told is now down to $750,000, as there’s little evidence that any shoe company has begun substantive negotiations with any prospective draft pick from this year’s class.
All is quiet from Nike [NKE 51.06 -1.36 (-2.59%) ], who famously agreed to pay LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony a combined $108 million in 2003. Last year, Nike signed the kid who was once termed “The Next LeBron James,” O.J. Mayo, for $400,000 a year.
Adidas, which spent money on Derrick Rose and Michael Beasley last year, also has nothing to announce. Either does the new player in the game, Under Armour, which signed Brandon Jennings last year before he went off to Italy.

His rookie contract may not even cover his buyout, why should he be expected to play, risking his body 82 times every year for three years for free? What is the difference if he gets a big contract at 21 or 23?
It would be fiscally irresponsible for him to come over and play in the NBA right now, especially when he'd be coming over to be the third string PG for one of the worst teams in the league. I wouldn't be in a hurry to risk financial security for the rest of my life for that, would you?
Rubio isn't a chump, he isn't afraid (he wasn't afriad in the Olympics), and he isn't a premodonna. He's making the right choices for himself and his family. I understand that may not make all of us spoiled fans happy, but it's his life and he's being responsible for that. I'll be just as excited to see him come over and play in two years as I am now.
So with what you're saying, why even waste your time, the Wolves' time and even enter the NBA draft?
