^You know logic is a very funny thing. The Blazers basically dont add anyone, and yet they are supposed to win more games, YET, I repeat YET the Nuggets cant do the same according to you and Cap because they stood pat this off season.
If the Blazers dont get Hedo and dont get a decent pg, they are no where better than the Lakers, Spurs and Nuggets. You are delusional if you think they are. 60 games in the West is hard.

logically, the team with 4 rookies playing minutes(and just overall a much younger team) would be expected to improve more than the team without any rookies(and the overall much older team). and logically, the team that returned all their important players would be expected to improve more than a team who may lose some of their important players(kleiza, anderson, dahntay).
logic would absolutely suggest that the blazers are more likely to improve than the nuggets.
You really do like this ring around the roses type arguments. That team couldn't get out of the first round last year, yet they are supposed to win 5 more games in a loaded Western conference WITHOUT making any additions. The Nuggets team you mentioned as two legitimate all stars, the Blazers have Roy as their only all star. The Nuggets also have better big man depth. Its not even about the Nuggets being the better team than the Blazers, its you having this ridiculous idea that the Blazers will win 60 games in the WEST.
P.S. Tywon Lawson is a rookie and a darn good one too.

so what happened to logic? now you're trying to argue against it?

yes, ty lawson is a rookie. no, ty lawson was not a rookie last year. i was referring to last year's teams, you know, the ones that each won 54 games. as for how good lawson will be as a rookie, that's definitely up for debate. nba teams showed how highly they thought of him when he went 18th in a draft routinely excepted as being very bad.
The Nuggets also have better big man depth. Its not even about the Nuggets being the better team than the Blazers, its you having this ridiculous idea that the Blazers will win 60 games in the WEST.
If he was predicting that the Blazers would win 60 in the east, I'd look askance, 12 games against Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando is just too big a hurdle to overcome. But the West? They're one of those teams that make it impossible for someone else to reach 60. Now, if Pritchard won't man up and trade some of the 17 kids they have either under contract or hold the draft rights to so that they can make a sign & trade for Turkeyglue I'm not going to expect them to improve all that much. But, if Pritchard can overcome his Paxsonilepsy then yes, they're in the first tier of the west.

you said that it doesn't make sense to think the blazers could win 60 but that the nuggets can't and said that logic somehow backed you up.
i pointed out how the blazers would logically be expected to improve more than the nuggets.
Sigh* Cap said, the Nuggets didnt add anyone and didnt improve. He also said they won 54 games last year, so winning 60 is impossible. The Blazers are in the same boat, they haven't addressed any issues on that squad, and the guys in their conference all got better. Their youth isn't going to make up for that, every team is stacked in that conference.

if you're under the impression that all the teams in the west got better, that might make sense. but i don't agree with that. of playoff teams, the spurs are the only team i'm certain got better from things other than internal improvement.
