"Everyone who was watching from our group said you could tell that Durant was a little bit on a mission -- and that's good for them to see that, it picks everybody up," Krzyzewski said. "He's that versatility guy, and the other thing is he's a shooter, and with the way we were playing defense for most of the Olympics, with his length, he could be a heck of a defender.

"So he's really at the head of the list for me," Krzyzewski said.

At mini-camp, intangibles score big points with USA brass

O.J. Mayo said that his mentality with USA Basketball has to be different from when he's carrying a large part of the scoring load for the Grizzlies. "[It's] like I'm trying to get a job," he said. "Dive on the floor, wipe the sweat up, whatever I have to do to be a part of Team USA, I'm definitely open."

That's the attitude the USA Basketball staff wants to see. And from all reports, they got what they wanted Thursday.

Team USA emphasizing defense

"Defense is why the U.S. was effective in the Olympics," said Triano, the Raptors' coach. "Defense is the great equalizer. They got in [opponents] faces and were aggressive."

The players quickly took Triano's words to heart. Moments after the break in the action, Devin Harris launched himself into the air to chase down a loose ball. Greg Oden leveled Derrick Rose on his way to the rim, and Andre Iguodala bounced his body off the floor in an effort to save the ball from going out of bounds.

I believe many NBA players will want to play in the Olympics, lets face it China is the growing economy and Europe is the other big economy.

NBA players will want to show themselves off in Beijing and London. I think many of them will be wanting to play in this team.
