It's amazing how Dwight is still under-rated (despite being widely acknowledged as the 2nd best player in the NBA) |

Re: Dan Fegan repeat: Dwight Howard is the best player in the world.
He's not the best perse but I'd take him first. He's the big man. For a long time it looked like LeBron was so far advanced that it didn't matter, but his issues under pressure bring him back down to earth.
Dwight all day. The NBA offensive line Kenyon though I'm trying to figure out why you **** on KG all the time for "not being a closer" or whatever...when in reality Howard's impact and role favors what KG did for his team, and Dwight is just as incapable of "closing". And you acknowledge him as your second best in the league |

They're not that similar.
I wouldn't bat an eye at choosing Dwight over KG. Dwight is a dominant paint presence. KG wasn't. And Dwight isn't anywhere near as bad in 4th quarters as Garnett was. You can build a championship caliber team around Howard. With KG it was never possible. |

Apparently you're wrong because Boston did it.

Yes, it was.
That teams calling card was defense, and Garnett was the focal point.

It's amusing seeing Dwight effectively guarded by guys like Jason Maxiel and a 39 year old Shaq. Mourning would have broken Maxiels nose and dropped 30 on him. Laughable to compare Dwight's inflated stats in a terrible era for centers to 20/10 and multiple defensive player of the year and say it's not close. You're delusional.

Dwight Howard, still a fraud going strong. Still not a great center.

Stop bumping old ballscientist threads. It makes me think he's back to posting.
