Does this officially make Oden the biggest bust in NBA history? Professional sports history? I mean this guy came into the league with a lot of hype and expectations.

Not by any definition is Oden the biggest bust in NBA history. Typically, literally not being able to play doesn't make you a "bust", but if you want to use that definition then Len Bias is the biggest bust in NBA history.

Re: Trail Blazers' Greg Oden suffers another setback, less likely to play this season
You cant say Bias would be, because he never played an NBA game due to death. Oden on the other hand was passed over Durant, with a cut history of injuries. He was anointed as the best player in the draft, and the best big man to come into the league this decade. Teams tanked and hoped to get the chance to pick up, and with him on the roster all picked the Blazers as the next big dynasty. Season after season, he was given another chance and still failed to live up to anything meaningful in the NBA. He was picked number 1 overall over Durant and Horford.

I don't like to include guys that never really got to play due to injuries in the "bust" category.

Re: Trail Blazers' Greg Oden suffers another setback, less likely to play this season
I gotta agree with Hibachi. A bust is someone that was given a shot in the league and simply couldn't cut it, skills-wise. Oden proved that although not worth the top pick in the draft - he could have been (could be?) a defensive force in the league, as well as an at least adequate offensive player. You wouldn't be 4-on-5 with him on the floor. Health isn't a reason to declare a bust. Darko is a bust. Skita is a bust. There are plenty of busts out there, but I don't think Oden could be classified as such. He's more a cautionary tale - multiple people talked about him looking like an old man more than just in superficial appearance when he was at Ohio State.
-Chris.
