Re: LeBron sending overtures to Cleveland?
No Doubt, if they would have won that year, People are arguing he is the greatest to ever play.

Re: LeBron sending overtures to Cleveland?
In Cleveland you just have to be serviceable for real for real. Since Lebron left the way he did he probably will just have to finish his career in Cleveland, or with till Dan Gilbert sales the team or passes it over to a son or something. It won't happen under his watch.

Re: LeBron sending overtures to Cleveland?
I'm fairly certain that Lebron's PR team is the worst of any superstar in the history of sports. They have to have something against him, there's no way anyone could be that bad at their job.
Edit: And I'm actually starting to feel bad for LeBron. I've never seen a player crave popularity like this. He is incapable of being the bad guy and it's honestly sad. For his sake I hope he somehow falls back into everyone's good graces because this kind of behavior is pretty pathetic for a twenty something year old.

Isn't this really just a case of buyer's remorse? Am I like the only person here that doesn't watch soap operas? (And, yes, pro wrestling is just soap opera for guys.)

That statement is utterly ridiculous. Especially given how poorly he played in the 2007 Finals, and in the ECF against the Pistons. That 48 point game skewed how horrificly he played during that series. Boobie Gibson shot them into the Finals, get it straight. |

Re: LeBron sending overtures to Cleveland?
Your hatred really does know no bounds.
Since the 2010 offseason, i've cared less and less about Woj's articles. The amount of vitriol he directed towards Lebron around that time was crazy. Still, it does make you wonder when he says "Miami fans don't have anything to worry about at this point".

He was royalty in that city, despite being that same oblivious jerk that we know him to be now. After he shat on them on national TV and pretty much became a neo Modell, even if he came back and won a ring it wouldn't be the same. And that's just from a fan's perspective. Just think about how much free rein he had in that organization. His mother used to walk the arena like she owned the place and do whatever she wanted around town...he had all his boys working in the organization, traveling with him...I mean he literally could do whatever he wanted, so much so that when he left people faulted Gilbert for never showing a backbone. So if he came back it would be under Gilbert's terms. From a local media perspective they mostly overlooked his shortcomings and walked on eggshells around him. One bad showing in the 4th quarter and he'd be 75 cents in Cleveland now. He had probably the cushiest situation any athlete has ever had and I think he's starting to realize that. Even if he went back though it could never be the way it was. |

Re: LeBron sending overtures to Cleveland?
He just wants everybody to like him. Think about it, for most of his life he's been the best, and when you're a kid who's the best at something, almost everyone loves you. And if they don't, they get ignored. That's his comfort zone. Leaving Cleveland and having almost everybody bash him was probably something completely new for him and now he's trying desperately to get that comfort zone back.
The East was also pathetic that year. Cleveland beat a Washington team without two 20 ppg scorers, a .500 Nets team, and a Detroit team who forgot that Gibson and Lebron were the only two people on the team who could score from outside 8 feet. I don't really for Lebron's immaturity and the media's obsession with him, but that 07 Cavs team was lucky as hell. Lebron's game 6 was pretty ridiculous, dude was just throwing the ball in from everywhere. I don't know if he's ever went on streak like that before or since. And to what Dre said: There's no way in hell that Pat Riley lets Lebron's entourage run around like the Cavs did.

Those Cavaliers teams around LeBron were never anything more than trash. They had no business ever being in the finals or ever winning 60 games in a season to begin with. If those idiots running the show had just gotten him one legitimate star to play with, out of the many that were traded during that time period, he would never have left. You see this, R-Star's unborn son? This is what you're gonna have to put up with once you enter the world. Have fun in therapy, assuming you aren't belted to death in a drunken craze before then. |
