This is basically just a thread to mock the disgrace that is Brook Lopez! 27 MPG and he can only manage 3.6 rebounds.

Even Mugsy Bogues averaged 4.1 rebounds one season!

Brook Lopez is one of those players who I wish was around when Bill Walton was still commentating on games.

I know he would just get destroyed by Walton because Walton always criticized big men who were bad defensively or poor rebounders who couldn't box out.

I could just see him in his voice...

"Horrible, horrible, horrible. Just an awful effort by Brook Lopez."

But yeah, Brook Lopez is a joke.

18 rebounds in 5 games is PG status for sure, but Brook's career average for rebounds per game is 7.5. That's obviously a little underwhelming, but the dude is still a quality basketball player. His career numbers - 17.4 ppg (50.4% from the field, 79.6% from the free throw line), 7.5 rpg, 1.6 apg, .6 spg, 1.6 bpg, and 2.12 TO's in 34.1 MPG. It does seem silly now to think some people thought he was more valuable than Bynum, but Bynum had a lot of question marks even just a year ago. Even now it seems like he's a total knucklehead, and in some peoples mind that depreciates a lot of value of a player even if the on court production is there (see: young Zach Randolph).

He's put up mediocre stats on terrible teams his entire career, I'm not impressed. He's not awful but he's not a good basketball player. Any 7 footer that averages 6 rebounds a game for an entire season is not a good prospect.

And the thing with Bynum is we all knew he could be this good if he was ever healthy, it was just a matter of rolling the dice. I always knew that Lopez was going to be an underwhelming pro, (never trust a boy with a girl name) and no amount of security was going to make up for the talent gap between these two.

He was at least a decent rebounder in his first two seasons. He had mono and was playing through other injuries in his 3rd season, which explains his low rebounding totals. Let's just wait before we start calling him pathetic smh.

I wonder if something happened to Brook mentally. I mean, his first year in the league he averaged 8 rebounds in 30 minutes (82 games). His second season he averaged 8 rebounds in 37 minutes (82 games). But then last year he averaged only 6 in 35 minutes (82 games).

You're held to a higher standard as a big man too. There's only going to be two of you oncourt most times, so if you have a serious deficiency the other person has to make up for it.

That's why severely limited guys like him aren't sought after in general compared to less offensively talented but more well rounded big men. I'd rather have a true 15 and 9 over him anyday.

And to tell the truth he can score but he's not some prodigy or something that can drop 30 or carry your offense, so it doesn't mask or justify his flaws

His little 21 ppg at best needs to come with something else, especially at Center
