Re: Rockets to amnesty Scola
Man, this move kinda hurts. I loved Scola and am sad to see him go.
Luis loves basketball the way we fans wish all players loved basketball -- the way we tell ourselves we would love it if we could ever play at that level. The guy is a basketball playing machine and is addicted to it. And his joy for the game pours out of him on the court. The camaraderie he seems to have with the other players on the team always brought a smile to my face. Last edited by OneBadLT123; 07-12-2012 at 10:48 PM. |

Re: Rockets to amnesty Scola
Brand ain't slipping anywhere...Dallas is aggressively pursuing him so if they miss out it's b/c another team put in a good bid.
Dallas, Portland, Phoenix, Houston, Charlotte, Cleveland at the very least have cap. Some other teams like Minnesota may have cap if RFA offers get matched. |

Re: Rockets to amnesty Scola
I would guess we might see some qualifying offers revoked so that a team has enough cap space to make a bid they believe will win. If you can get rid of a cap hold and use the space created to get Scola you should think real hard about it.

Re: Rockets to amnesty Scola
I believe that Charlotte, Cleveland, Dallas, New Orleans and Sacramento are the only teams which can bid for Scola at this point. If the Hornets got him they would be a very interesting team. I suspect the cost is going to be fairly high.

Re: Rockets to amnesty Scola
Getting Scola at $3M/year for 3 years would be much better cost-wise for the Hornets than re-signing Landry. Hoping he ends up in NOLA because that would make them even more interesting.

3.3 for 3 years. Not a bad contract a1 all.

Re: Update: Suns awarded Luis Scola off amnesty waivers
I still care about my suns, they just hurt me a lot. They played jenga with nash and when it finally broke, they traded him to lakers. I'm still bothered by it, but it was nash's request. The suns were at least loyal to him. So, yes, I forgive them. As I said before, I went into the high country and camped for the weekend and had some intense therapy sessions with dr. daniels.

The suns lost Nash and yet will still probably be as good as they were last year, assuming they get Mayo to replace Gordon.

Re: Update: Suns awarded Luis Scola off amnesty waivers
I thought it would go higher than that. At least for next year you're only paying like 30 cents on the dollar. Even if you don't really need him you end up with a good player on a deal that can be moved easily.
