More teams = more talent or more teams = diluted (sp?) talent?

And a much greater chance of winning a title in any given year. All other things being equal, 1/8 as opposed to 1/28.

I don't understand your response.
My question was: a) more teams = more talent or b) more teams = diluted talent?

Is it a) or b)?

Didn't think I actually needed to answer that. B, obviously.

Okay well I hate to do this seeing as the votes are so close, but Wilt wins 13-11.

Re: Greatest Players of All Time (Wilt wins)

Well i said on other threads that i still feel jordan is still the number 1 greatest player of all times bar none. Most ppl here are really overrating wilt way too much cause of stats. Big deal. If wilt was soo AWESOME! He would have won more then just 2 rings while russell won it 11 times? Wilt play i believe 4 season with the lakers but only could win it 1 time while he had west and baylor? A guy made a great point, An all time great would average better in stats in the playoffs then in the regular season but wil couldnt do it while jordan did on mostly every playoffs game. Look both jordan and wilt in career average the same in points but jordan in the playoffs career stats average far far better in points then he did in the regular season while wilt went from 30.1 pergame in the regular season to 22.5 pergame in the playoffs.

Now in my opinion the second greatest player of all times imo is magic johnson. The man has won rings 5 times including his first ring as a damn rookie when the great kareem couldnt even play in the nba finals in which magic mostly have to play every position. When has a player that is a hall of famer ever won first ring and finals mvp and play mostly every position as a rookie? <<<Who's done it? And lets not forget kareem was really past his prime when magic won those rings.

It is really fewer teams from a more shallow talent pool vs. more teams from a vastly deeper talent pool.

Magic did more than anyone to elevate the team around him, and carry it when necessary. Jordan was a Magic-caliber player, but I believe Magic was a step beyond him. Had Jordan had the competition that Magic had in the `80s, in a league that had not yet properly developed a talent pool to cope with expansion, he would not have won six rings.

So, needless to say although I missed the last round of voting (and will probably miss more) - I have to stick with Magic.
You're way off. Jordan clearly had alot of great competition. So you saying Ewing knicks, Reggie pacers, Mourning hornets/heat, Isiah Pistons, Shaq magic, Barkley suns, Drexler blazers, Magic (in 91) lakers, Malone/Stockton jazz, Robinson Spurs, Payton Sonics in the 90's didnt have great competition?
