Greatest Players of All Time (Wilt wins)
Y'all know what we're doing here, Jordan took number one in a landslide.
1.) Jordan 2.) ? Have at it, and remember, discussion is encouraged.

Re: Greatest Players of All Time (Number two)
I'll be selecting Magic. Kareem is obviously hard to pass on, but I'll take Magic for reasons mentioned earlier.

Re: Greatest Players of All Time (Number two)
I kind of have this as the 2nd tier - Wilt and Kareem, and I'm not quite sure who I think is better.
I'm going with Kareem here, but I'm pretty much on the fence.

Re: Greatest Players of All Time (Number two)
Well quite unfair to Lebron since he is the only one not Retired or almost Retired and is going to enter in his Prime next season. By the end of his career he will be either 1 or 2 of all-time.

And why did you capitalize "retired"?

Re: Greatest Players of All Time (Number two)
I still don't understand the rationale behind Wilt being rated this high. How could a guy who fell off a cliff in the playoffs be considered the second best player of all time?

In 1972, Wilt was the MVP in the NBA Finals. Not sure which book you are reading or what video you watched, but you are out to lunch on Wilt.

Re: Greatest Players of All Time (Number two)
Shaq made huge impacts to the league just like MJ. Also haven't mentioned how dominating he was in prime and lasted quite serveral of years. He got rings, MVPs, jersey retired, hall of fame(eventually), etc.. Although he never appeared in Olympic(I guess?), people from the world did recgonize who he was and people desired to watch him played on court.
Entertainment and Popularity should be counted beside ability to play on court. I wouldn't waste my time watching a player(even a hall of famer) who played so boring even though averaging 30 pts in his career who only scored in limited ways and had done nothing else.. |

And I said he "falls off a cliff in the playoffs" because he regresses in every single statistical category sans rebounding in the post season. The second best player of all time should raise his game in the playoffs, you know, the real season, shouldn't he? Is Wilt the best regular season player ever? Probably. But there's a lot more to this game than the regular season.
