Re: Gold Medal or NBA Championship?

Germany winning a medal wouldn't be an upset. It would be a mindboggling impossibility. Last time I saw them play internationally Ademola Okulaja was starting for them. Their guards look like rec league players. Dirk would have to walk on water for them to make the medal round.

again 'having' or 'winning' - I dont think the question was would you rather be a scrub on a title team or one of the 12 best players in the US - that wouldnt be much of a question at all - would you rather be a scrub or be named to the all nba first or second team? I've always figured this had to do with would you rather be a key contributor

Re: Gold Medal or NBA Championship?

Some of those girls look way too much like Jethro Bodine. I was watching that women's freestyle wrestling and making jokes about gender tests with my buddies.

Nothing beats the Stanley Cup.

Re: Gold Medal or NBA Championship?

The Olympics mean absolutely nothing to me personally, so its pretty obvious what my choice would be.

I can't see any NBA player picking a gold medal over a ring. Period.

As R-Star said above, in hockey its different, but I gotta believe hoisting the Stanley Cup is better than getting a gold medal. At least for U.S.A. and Canadian players...perhaps its different for those that play in Europe and are not part of the NHL, or their teams never really make an impact in the NHL playoffs...there I can see where some would prefer a gold medal over The Cup.
