Re: Greatest players of all time (number 8)
Im glad to see Tim take the lead...MVPs aren't everything, but being voted best player for the season (or multiple seasons) is a crucial. There are numerous disagreeable MVPs in history, but I dont see any cases where it went to someone who wasn't also deserving.

Re: Greatest players of all time (number 8)
Reggie Miller in his greatest team ever (Reggie's Mailbag)
Put his team as: Kareem Hakeem Bird Jordan Magic (2 years ago) Horry and Elie said Hakeem was better than Duncan. Find me one player who would place Duncan above Hakeem. Both played with Hakeem and Duncan.

Re: Greatest players of all time (number 8)
Someone should seriously ask David Robinson who he considers the better player. Would be interesting.

Re: Greatest players of all time (number 8)
Was Hakeem playing with less than Duncan in 2003? Timmy also faced greater competition in his championship runs than Hakeem did in '94 and '95.

Re: Greatest players of all time (number 8)
Hakeem's roster in 94:
Kenny Smith: 11ppg 4apg Vernon Maxwell: 14ppg 4apg Robert Horry: 12ppg 6rpg Otis Thorpe: 11ppg 10rpg Hakeem: 29ppg 11rpg bench: Sam Cassell: 9ppg 4apg Mario Elie: 6ppg 2apg Carl Herrera: 5ppg 3rpg Had to go through: Drexler's Blazers, Barkley's Suns Stockton/Malone's Jazz Ewing Knicks Compare that to your 2003 Spurs: Tony Parker: 15ppg 4apg Stephen Jackson: 13ppg 4rpg Bruce Bowen: 7ppg 3rpg Tim Duncan: 25ppg 15rpg David Robinson: 8ppg 7rpg Bench: Manu Ginobili: 9ppg 4 apg Malik Rose: 9ppg 6rpg Speedy Claxton: 5ppg 2apg Who went through: Marbury suns Kobe and Shaq's Lakers Dirk Nowitzki's Mavs J Kidd's Nets Hakeem had to go through 3 hall of famers lead teams (who were in their prime). TD's only real competition was the Lakers. You can't tell me that Kenny Smith, Maxwell and Thorpe is more help than Parker, Jackson and D-Rob (even as a shell of his former self). |

Re: Greatest players of all time (number 8)
TD's 3 other chips were with at least 1 more all star on his team and another player that was a borderline all star.
Hakeem won both titles without another all star on his team. |
