Re: Pick the worst contract so far this summer.

Actually he isn't and he isn't. I mean last year, sure. But overall Bass is a just a better offensive rebounder, but as he really isn't any good at that either it ends up being a wash. Bass is a single position defender, and not a terribly good one due to the size limitations. Green at least defends two spots. But that's the reason they elected to gamble on him. He provides them with coverage at both forward spots. No one likes the contract, and no one's saying that he's ever likely to be better than average. But if he gets back to average then Boston has made a huge upgrade.

Re: Pick the worst contract so far this summer.
Actually they paid too much and too long for both of them. Bass is now getting Glen Davis money and actually isn't a better player. But, again, they had to keep them because their only other option was to renounce everyone and get into a bidding war for Kris Humphries or Jason Thompson. And then have limited resources to upgrade everywhere else.

Re: Pick the worst contract so far this summer.
NBA is so illegal. Basically they would have only become backloaded if the Knicks/Bulls were to have matched.

Re: Pick the worst contract so far this summer.
The worst contract is Ryan Anderson 4yr / 34 mil.
He showed in the playoffs that he is useless without the dominant center in the league on his teams. If he starts, that means young, thin Davis is your post man. Davis doesn't have near enough skill or reputation to get a double team. Meaning Anderson won't be left wide open. What else can he do to help your team win ? Tall guys that shoot three's grow on trees. No need to lock this guy up on a supposed "rebuilding team" |

Re: Pick the worst contract so far this summer.
Best move the Magic have made in a while was not giving Ryan Anderson a big payday. People will talk about what he can and cannot do -- he does two things very well, spot up shooting and offensive rebounding. He's below average to very bad at everything else.
