Re: Rondo speaks on Ray
Ray Allen isn't even half the player he used to be and the Celtics upgraded with Jason Terry. This is getting way too much attention.

Re: Rondo speaks on Ray
FOH with that shit. That just makes him thin skinned then. Boston shopped everyone on that roster at some point last season including their best player Rondo. KG resigned showing loyalty not just to his organization, but to his teammates as well. Ray bailed on them to sign for less with the defending champs and a hated rival. I'll give him this, he was a free agent and it was his right to sign with any team but signing with the Heat is a slap to the face of his teammates in Boston and judging by what the media is reporting about KG, some of them see it as just that.

Re: Rondo speaks on Ray
Thank you deus ex machina for swooping in with irrelevant opinions. None of that adds anything to the crux of the discussion. You seem to be implying the Celtics didn't want him back when clearly that wasn't the case.

Ray didn't bail on anyone. He made a decision and decided that Miami is the best possible place to win a championship. End of story.

Re: Rondo speaks on Ray
Yeah, Ray is a pragmatic thinker. I'm not sure going to Miami was meant to be a stab in the back. LeBron has been trying to get Ray here since Decision summer, before Ray re-upped in Boston. Miami was the best team showing abundant interest in him. I won't say he isn't pleased with the added benefit of now being with the team's chief competition, but I think that's more of a consequence of the decision, rather than a driving factor.

You think if Kobe was actively being shopped and told he was pretty much out the door, he'd come back and sign the next year? Not a ****ing chance. I don't blame Ray one bit. And anyone saying he's thin skinned for that is being ridiculous.

Re: Rondo speaks on Ray
Like I said it was his right to leave. I don't blame him for that. It just irks me that he decided to sign with Miami of all teams. If Kobe had gone out and signed with Phoenix after they booted us out of the playoffs two years in a row I'd be irked with him too. Not for leaving but for signing with the team that booted us out. Same way I was annoyed with Fisher signing with OKC, although that didnt bug me too much because the battles with OKC haven't been quite as contentious as the wars we had with Phoenix. The thing is that Ray wasn't alienating the Boston Celtics organization by bolting to Miami. I'm sure ownership could care less about it. The people he was really spitting in the face of are the Boston fans and the teammates he left behind. It rubs me the wrong way because out of the Boston Big 3, i respected Ray the most. If it irks me and I'm a Laker fan, I cant imagine how much it pisses off Boston fans. Can't wait to see the first game that these two squads play in Boston. That place is going to be insane.
