Re: Breakout players for next year?

Lopez and Deron are already going. So....that's no lock for Joe. He'll do what 20 ppg?..there's players that are lead guards that will do that. The only locks are top 15 type players, of which Joe is not. When you talk about spots that are reserved today (barring injury) you talk about LeBrons, Wades, Bynum, Kobe, players like that, not Joe Johnson. It's not a big deal just saying.

Did he even make it every year in Atlanta?

Re: Breakout players for next year?

Lopez isn't going. Bynum probably starts, and if not it'll be Chandler voted in. The coaches are appointing either Hibbert, Chandler, or Bynum because Lopez doesn't defend or rebound. Johnson's set up to have a nice little season playing next to Williams. I'm not saying he's a lock, but I expect him to make it. You can make a serious case for him being the third-best shooting guard in the league.

I forgot about Hibbert.

And I guess there's nothing to talk about if you don't think he's a lock

Wade Deron JJ are locks. Irving should beat out Ellis and Jennings. There is nobody else except maybe Wall......
Even so Irving still has to do a lot in order to be voted into the All Star game. It's obvious playing extremely well doesn't get you the spot you deserve in an all star game, this became incredibly obvious when Blake Griffin laughingly got voted in as a starter over Kevin Love who was outplaying him in every way last year. Irving will most likely increase his scoring with increased playing time, but he will have to up his assists as well and be able to get the Cavs a decent record.

Someone is going to have to put up stats in Orlando. I have no clue who it'll be though, maybe Arron Afflalo? OJ Mayo is a good bet.

Re: Breakout players for next year?

Afflalo will probably have a very nice year. I think Bellineli could have a good year in Chicago, Paul George will continue to improve.I like what I've heard about Ed Davis in TOR, he could finally do something. Isaiah Thomas could have a nice year in SAC.

My homer picks would be Markeiff Morris and Wes Johnson. From what I have read/seen they have both had very good summers. Morris hasput on 15lbs of muscle and looks like he has improved his focus(still to be seen if he can do it all season) and he had a great summer league(20ppgs 10rpg) and should see a bump in minutes due to Frye being out for the year. Coaches have said Johnson looks like a different person. He looks rejuvenated. And he's shown it in the Suns last two intrasquad scrimmages(ya I know how little that means) but he has used his length in the passing lanes and is knocking down shots. Scored 18 of his teams 20 points in two 5 minute games.

Re: Breakout players for next year?

Evan Turner and OJ Mayo are really good candidates for this, both guys should see an increased role on relatively competitive squads.
