Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/04/12]
Stuckey sucks. Not sure what happened to him but he's no longer a starting caliber player in this league.

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/04/12]
It's not just Stuckey, throw in Brandon Knight and Detroit's starting backcourt is 11-55 so far this season. They are brutal together. Stuckey may not be a point guard, but he definitely isn't a 2.

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/04/12]
Why is he not a 2? That's generally defined more defensively. Are you saying that because he's not a great outside shooter? From what I've seen (very little recently as I forget Detroit exists), he's more effective with the ball in his hands, but so are many 2's.

Feel kind of bad for Tayshawn Prince. Been stuck on some horrible teams.

He wants Stuckey to be his little Wade (which is ridiculous) and now Stuckey doesn't know who he is anymore. He could go to another team and start over and not be so bad. |

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/04/12]
Well, in fairness, if they didn't draft Darko they would've gone Melo, I'd imagine. Maybe Bosh, if they didn't think a SF would be ideal. Legend has it Randy Pfund had to talk Riley into taking Wade over Kaman.

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/04/12]
Other way around. Pfund and the experts wanted Bosh to replace Mourning. Riley saw Wade take his team to the final four and decided that was the man for him.
And ended up with both ! |

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/04/12]
Kaman, not Bosh. Its a story that's been told for 9 years. Riley indeed saw Wade kill his alma mater, hence him being OK with going small over big, contrary to his bball philosophy.

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/04/12]
Yeah Jace has the story right, Riley loved Bosh too but he was never going to be on the board at #5.
Riley wanted Kaman but the scouting department wanted Wade. After seeing Wade destroy Kentucky, he agreed. Rest is history
