Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/05/12]
This is completely backwards. Miami is asking Ray to actually come in and be a complete basketball player whereas Boston reduced his role to simply a shooter.

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/05/12]
Miami's having Ray come in and play the shooter role either off the bench or as the fourth option with the starters. He's going to rebound a little more and have an easier time at getting to the rim due to the decreased defensive attention and by virtue of playing against worse perimeter defenders. Let's not make the mistake of extrapolating him looking good in a reduced role into Ray being an all-star had only Boston guaranteed him 35 minutes a night.

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/05/12]
I don't think its about PT. I think Marcus is getting at the fact that Spoelstra is letting him do more in the offense: run more PnR, post-up, handle in the open court, etc. The fact that its only his second 6rb/6ast game since joining Boston is an indication of him being able to handle more, as well as the Heat having to gang rebound due to lack of strong-rebounding bigs (our "centers" combined for 9 rbs in 44 mins). He's been saying since his introductory press conference that Pat and Erik sold him on being in a much freer and more open system, closer to the ones he played in at UConn, in Milwaukee, and in Seattle. I remember being impressed with his ability to handle backup PG duties during their title run in Boston, but seeing him still be able to run the PnR so effectively has been a pleasant surprise.

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/05/12]
Somewhat true, Ray Allen also started for Boston for 6 years and was the 2nd or 3rd option. He's the 4th or 5th option coming out off the Heat bench, but does more ballhandling.

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/05/12]
Because Miami doesn't run a traditional offense nor do they have a playmaker that controls the ball like Rondo.

Thabeet needs to learn not to foul out every game and he might be a starting center. Really good game today expect for the fouling out

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/05/12]
I think Orlando will be near .500 until they play the Lakers on Dec 2. At which point they will lose like 30 in a row similar to what the Cavs did after playing Lebron.
