David West scores 12 of his 20 points in the first quarter. I saw very few plays ran for him down the stretch, and more for Hibbert. Good guy Vogel. Run some plays for guys that are hot, who cares about spreading the wealth. That 4th quarter looked like Jim O'Brien basketball, and I'm afraid that's what we've reverted back to.

He's the only one that scored there in the end. But I was surprised he was in the game, I'm not sure if I'd rather have Green in either though.

And I'm losing faith in Hibbert. This guy plays just far too soft.

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/07/2012]
Augustin has been pretty terrible, and he didn't score all game. At least Vogel didn't run with the bench the whole game, he actually changed up his rotations a bit.
Surprisingly Hibbert was +12. But 9 points isn't enough, again.

Hes averaging 9 and 8 for the season. Its crazy. The only thing hes doing well is blocking. I'd say hes defending great as well, but sometimes he has huge lapses where you may as well just have a pylon out there.

He's just a product of our overall awful offensive output so far. Granger spreads the floor a lot more than we give him credit for and it's becoming more and more apparent.

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/07/2012]
I thought Indy would miss Granger a lot. Wasn't he their leading scorer by 5-6 points? On a team that spreads the wealth a lot, that's a pretty big gap. You'd think that all of the support he had last year would be able to fill in the gaps, but his presence could've been one facilitated others' scoring.

OJ Mayo with another big game apparently. I always knew that he could play, good for him for finding a situation that he can excel in.

Just started watching this game, but this looks like what will happen to the Lakers throughout much of the season. Teams will gun for them like never before, and with their age, it'll be hard to get up for every opponent.

Ha ha, Big Game James agrees with me, but he also says they lack passion. Starts with the coach. (He didn't say that, I am saying that.)

Re: Today's Game Discussion [11/07/2012]
Just watched the Mike Brown media session. Yeesh.
Some stupid questions though. "Kobe was having a lot of success late, why not go to him earlier?" Because you have two all-world bigs up front who, in theory, play high-percentage basketball. Not to mention, Kobe is in his mid-30's with a foot injury. Why run him down so early in the season? Obviously you want to get the team off the schneid, but its not like a 1-4 stretch during the season would kill them. MWP taking more shots than anyone not named Kobe isn't the formula, that's for sure. And yet I've heard tons of people trying to trade him. Silly. I love Paul George, and was hoping he'd stay in the mid-to-high 20's before he became all the rage prior to the draft so the Heat could draft him, but I never saw him as a 1A, and still don't. Obviously, the main trade hope I'd been hearing was for Eric Gordon, but its not like he's A) proven he can stay healthy, or B) shown he's a no-doubt alpha scorer. |
