They've done it in hockey before. Would be neat to see it in the NBA. 2 legit head coaches on one squad.

If I were a Lakers fan, this would make me horny.

Would be interesting to see what Kobe's role would be in a D'Antoni system, though. We know Melo flopped in it.

Re: ESPN: Mike Brown Fired

What happens to Eddie Jordan now? Does he get tied up and publicly flogged in downtown LA?

At the end of the day it's a pretty dirty move from Laker management, who just gave him a vote of confidence 24 hours ago.
Boom.

Because the Lakers offense weren't their only problem, they were also horribly inconsistent on defense. You think bringing in D'Antoni will help solve that problem?

You would think.

I'd be highly surprised if they didn't have their guy lined up prior to firing the current coach. Pretty sure this is just Lakers management going through the motions to make things look official and not be too disrespectful to Brown.

Jackson coming in to coach a team loaded with superstars? Yea right.

Yeah, I mean I thought this was pretty obvious. One of my first thoughts upon hearing about the Dwight trade was "Phil will be back this season"

Rather ppl like or dont like the offensive style of brown, it was clearly a disgusting move to fire mike brown after a 5 game season. This shows the lakers management have no class.

I don't agree that firing him 5 games in is classless, its not like its his first year coaching the Lakers. But I do agree its classless for the reason that they just publicly stated yesterday that they were standing behind him.

That's ****ing gutless on their part.
